I recently created the Miss Tilly Australia brand along with my husband Ian, inspired by our beautiful granddaughter Matilda. Our mission is to make pretty little summery dresses, ideal for our climate to make like girls feel like the beautiful angels and princesses they are. We realised that there was a huge gap in the market after going online to purchase Aussie made clothing for an upcoming birthday. Most of the garments were produced overseas therefore we wanted to design and produce garments right here in Australia with love and care to details. A lot of Australians have converted to supporting Australian businesses which is something we are very passionate about. We source from other Australian made business where passible for our fabrics and supplies.

Our journey started in 2019 with the end of my job in retail, I was at a crossroads and had to make the decision to either continue working in retail or follow my passion. I also have a background in clothing manufacture which helps, so I decided to put all my energy into creating a range of unique dresses, something for every little girl to enjoy for any special occasion using primarily 100% cotton and lines with florals, broderie anglaise and Australian theme fabrics. We pride ourselves on producing dresses of the highest quality, keeping each run small and taking in the time and effort to ensure every dress is made to our high standards. we don’t cut corners which is why we make our own dresses instead of mass producing foreign made garments that are ‘ethically’ produced.

Starting a fashion line from scratch can be quite daunting and exciting at the same time, there is a great deal of commitment, thought and energy that goes into it. Setting up our label, purchasing all the right machines and equipment, selecting only the best fabrics to make the perfect dress. Then setting up your website and finding models to feature the designs. Our final aim is the rewards of seeing a little girls face light up when she’s found the dress she loves, making it all worthwhile.
